My maiden name was Stowe. My grandfather was Wilfrid Henry Stowe his dad's name was Wilfrid George Stowe born in 1880s. I know "our" Stowes were from Peterborough but can't put my hands on all my papers at the moment.

I have on my tree Ellen Stowe born Peckham area 1852 daughter of Moses and Ellen Stowe. Ellen (1852) married Richard Miller in Ealing in 1872. Does anyone have any further information on Richard Miller? He died 1881 before the census and was married after the 1871 census. Their marriage certificate does not have an age (just says full) or a name of a father - can anyone help?

Hi Everyone,

I've been thinking of expanding the website development to a CMS system (Content Management System) so more people can get involved in entering information, creating content and adding to the detail we have already found.

If there are any suggestions on a preferred CMS system then please feel free to suggest one, in the meantime I have added a few for us to look at and perhaps allow some feedback on preferences.

They can be found using the following links:

Mambo http://thestowes.co.uk/mambo/
Joomla http://thestowes.co.uk/joomla/
PHP-Nuke http://thestowes.co.uk/phpnuke/
PostNuke http://thestowes.co.uk/postnuke/
Geeklog http://thestowes.co.uk/geeklog/

They can all be logged into using test as username and password. You will then be able to create content and edit all aspects of the design of each, budding web designers knock yourself out :-)

Please don't put anything on there that you wouldn't like your children to see. I will be checking the sites and IP addresses are logged so be aware of the consequences.

Hello all.
I am a flag-waving American citizen who somehow landed in the Middle East and I am looking for a way out. src='Images/Sad.gif'>
(its a long story with lots of sordid details: cheating spouse, dysfunctional inlaws, deceipt and underhandedness...it might make a very interesting movie. src='Images/Smile.gif'>
Anyway, hello to everyone and I look forward to sharing my international experiences with all of you in the coming months.
